Congratulations to the For Children We Care Gala organizers, committee members, and volunteers!
Last night, we learned that this year's For Children We Care Gala in support of BC Children's Hospital Foundation won the award of "Best Fundraising Event", presented at the International Live Events Association - Vancouver Chapter.
We're honoured for the opportunity to volunteer at this spectacular event. We enjoyed every minute of the event - witnessing the elegant ambience, enjoying the heartwarming stories shared by patients, and being in the presence of generous donors.

Our leadership team with Sheway staff and patients The seed of our partnership with Sheway was planted back in January, when the D2D team came together to meet about the film festival for the first time. To make this event more profound, we decided to choose a overarching theme we’d like to deliver with the films. Many ideas were tossed around, but eventually the global chaos of 2016 helped us settle on the idea of “shared humanity.” We wanted to use the medium of film and the occasion of our festival to remind everyone of the goodness that we share in common. VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation’s annual Time to Shine Gala is always one of our favourite events to volunteer at! Featuring fun entertainment, glamorous guests, and priceless auction items, this fundraiser has kept us on our toes the entire night.
We witnessed as the Time to Shine Gala committee and all its supporters celebrate $2,880,105 raised. The money went towards their "Future of Surgery campaign", enhancing surgical care for British Columbians.
On top of volunteering for the gala, we also fundraised $10,000 through our e-Philanthropy Store and personal donations to support VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation. Cheers to a memorable night!

The gala raised a record breaking total of over $2.5 million for BC Children's Hospital. We also contributed an astonishing $30,000 through our e-Philanthropy Store sales.

Arthur Chan Medal of Merit - Sing Tao Outstanding Young Leaders Gala A huge round of applause for Arthur Chan, our President, for receiving a Medal of Merit at Sing Tao Newspaper’s Outstanding Young Leaders Gala yesterday! Sing Tao Daily partnered up with Vancouver Chinatown New Century Lions Club and VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation to present the Annual Young Leaders Medal of Merit to influential and motivational role models in the BC community. This prestigious award is only recognized to 3 finalists, and we’re so proud of Arthur for being one of them!
