Hong Kong Chapter Supporting the 2017 For Children We Care Gala

The For Children We Care Gala is one of the major events hosted by BC Children's Hospital Foundation every year. To contribute in giving the 22nd annual gala a kickstart, our team has raised $10,000 in funds towards the well-anticipated gala. This July 14th, our President (Arthur Chan) and the members of our high school team (Natalie Chan and Patrick Wang) were warmly welcomed by the graceful team from BC Children's Hospital Foundation, and were given a tour around the hospital to check out their new facilities. At the end of the tour, they even had the opportunity to meet with Teri Nicholas, the president and CEO of BC Children's Hospital Foundation, and had a cheque presentation. Stay tuned for the For Children We Care gala! It will...

Volunteering at the Chinese Opera

If you were to ask any of our D2D Destiny members what we appreciate the most from volunteering, we would say the opportunity to try new things. Today, 4 of our members (From right to left: Andy Ng, Nicole Poon, Perrin Leung, Stephanie Lau) got their first glimpse of a Chinese Opera concert when they volunteered as raffle ticket sellers at the Michael J. Fox Theatre. In only 3 hours, they sold $950 worth of raffle tickets, donated entirely to VGH + UBC Hospital Foundation!

We’re so incredibly proud of our team for coordinating such an amazing fundraising event, and we hope to host even greater projects together in the future!

Meeting Mayor Brodie

Not everyone can say that they've been in the office of Malcolm Brodie, the Mayor of Richmond, but we're humbled to say that was how we spent our Wednesday afternoon! Our team had a cheque presentation to Stephanie Chan in support of her Rio Paralympic Campaign.  During our meeting, we had the opportunity to formally introduce D2D Destiny Foundation's mandate and recent projects to Mayor Brodie, who was very impressed with our achievements since 2014. Inspired by Stephanie's story, our High School Leadership team founders, Cici Fan and Desmond Lum started a fundraising campaign for Stephanie called The "Donation of Love" Rio Paralympic Campaign. Through the proceeds fundraised from our E-Philanthropy store as well as the hard work of our team, we successfully raised $10,000 to...
