This weekend, we had the pleasure of meeting with Senator Yonah Martin.
The Honourable Yonah Martin is a University of British Columbia alumni earning a Bachelor of Education in 1987. Our members were delighted to know we had the opportunity to speak with Senator Martin.
Joined by our Honourary Board member, Professor Steven Minns of the UBC Sauder School of Business, we shared with Senator Martin our philanthropy journey. We started with sharing our work in the Young Ambassador Program, then leading into our current progress at D2D Destiny Foundation.
Other topics of interest included grooming the next generation of leaders, as well as what it means to make a difference in our community. Our Youth Leadership Team members of benefitted greatly from the encouraging words of Senator Martin - especially as they find their own ways to make a difference in the community.
Special thanks to our Advisory Board, Ms. Lillian Hum (VP & Chief Philanthropy Officer Children’s Hospital Foundation, and Dr. Steven Minns (UBC Sauder Professor & D2D Honorary Board Member) for attending this meeting alongside our D2D Destiny Foundation members.
Cheers to a wonderful start of 2018!
